1. Capacity Development Project for Two Committees of the Montenegrin Parliament
On 17 July 2007, Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament Mr. Ranko Krivokapic and Acting UNDP Resident Representative in Montenegro Mr. Garet Tankosic Kelly signed the paper on capacity development project for two committees of the Montenegrin Parliament - the Committee for Constitutional Issues and Legislation and the Committee for International Relations and European Integrations - for the purpose of SAA implementation. The agreement calls for harmonization of regulations with those of the EU; the two committees are in charge of monitoring all legislation undergoing the procedure in the Parliament. Capacity Development Program - CDP will provide MPs with legal, institutional and administrative assistance to this aim. This project is a continuation of joint support of CDP partners - Government of Montenegro, UNDP and FOSI-ROM - to public administration reform.
2. Capacity Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Mr. Milan Roćen and Acting UNDP Resident Representative and UN Inter-Agency Focal Point Mr. Garet Tankosić-Keli signed a project document on capacity development of the Ministry at Vila Gorica on 17 July 2007. UNDP provided funds to implement the project "Enhancing the capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to better respond to Montenegro's national priorities for European integrations". The project includes establishment of three new departments in the Ministry - International Legal Department, Information and Culture Department and Department for Political Analysis- as well as procurement of IT equipment. The project is intended to contribute to clearly establishing the goals and role of the Ministry in enhancing regional and Euro-Atlantic prospects of the country.
