ACTIVITIES IN 2006:

east east program:

Through the regional network East East Program (encouraging various forms of regional cooperation aimed at exchange of ideas, experience and expertise), FOSI-ROM enabled the implementation of three regional projects in Montenegro.

  • Regional Conference of Women Studies Centers: "From Different to Same", held in late August 2006 in Kotor and organized by the NGO Anima, Kotor, with the aim to gather representatives of Women Studies Centers and contribute to enhancing their capacities and to exchange of experience related to the standardization of contents and methods of Women Studies in the region. Part of the funds for this project, in the amount of EUR 1,322.00, was provided by the East-East Program; the bigger part was provided by the Swedish organization Kvinna till Kvinna.

  • In 2006, the project of the NGO Open Cultural Forum titled Promotion of "Sarajevske sveske" was awarded support once again. The project aimed at renewing the interrupted communication between different national and ethnic communities from the region of former Yugoslavia, as well as the creation of a public forum that would encourage and enhance a dialog between liberal intelectuals and academic communities from this region. The project focuses on the public promotion of the "Sarajevske sveske" magazine in Zagreb, Skoplje, Podgorica, Belgrade, Ljubljana and Sarajevo. The project segment related to the promotion in Podgorica was funded by the East East Program, in the amount of EUR 5,342.05.

  • NGO Nansen Dialog Center from Podgorica organized, supported by this Program, a conference titled Instruments for the Improvement of Inter-Ethnic Relations. In early November 2006, this conference gathered representatives of the civil sector from the region (Macedonia, BiH, Serbia, Croatia, Kosovo and Montenegro) active in peace initiatives and conflict prevention. The participants exchanged their experience related to the development of successful models of inter-ethnic dialog. One of the conference results was the creation of a web forum intended to initiate regional cooperation that would provide practical transfer of positive experience. The amount allocated: EUR 9,298.00.

The East-East Program also enabled participation of Montenegrin experts in a number of international events organized within this program:
