Through the regional network East East Program (fostering
different forms of regional cooperation for the purpose of exchange of
ideas, experience and expertise), FOSI ROM enabled implementation of the
following regional projects in Montengro in 2009:
1. Schengen White List/Western Balkan Response to
Migration in the Context of EU Visa Liberalization (Applicant: NGO
Center for Democracy and Human Rights). This is a regional project,
implemented as a partnersship between five organizations from the region
(Group 484, Belgrade, European Movement in Albania, Center for Research and
Policy Making, Skoplje, The Association Alumni of the Centre for
Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies, Sarajevo and CEDEM). The aim is
development of national studies on implementation of European standards in
the domain of migration, in the context of visa liberalization. East East Program
will cover travel expenses for participants to enable them to attend the
regional consultative meeting, regional training for journalists and final
regional conference, when the studies will be presented. These events are
project activities and enable exchange of ideas and a consultative process
in the implementation of the project. Amount allocated: EUR 1,738.
2. Regional Cooperation in the Domain of More Efficient
Use of Energy and Renewable Energy Sources, Stage II: Conference on Regional
Cooperation in the Domain of More Efficient Use of Energy and Renewable
Energy Sources (Applicant: NGO Green Home, Podgorica). The project
relies on the results of 2008 project implemented under the auspices of East
East Program. Irt aims to promote alternative forms of energy and envisages
a thre-day regional conference (followed by a one-day workshop) for
representatives of partner organizations from the region. The project also
includes publication of a guide on energy efficiency and use of solar
energy. Amount allocated: EUR 13,390.
3. Upgrading Child Protection in Montenegro, Stage II:
Conference on Regional Experience in Protection and Work with Abused
Children (Applicant: NGO Children First, Podgorica). The aim of the
project is to organize a regional conference in September 2009 that would
gather relevant experts on violence against children. The project is a
result of the findings of 2008 project carried out by the same NGO,
implemented through East East Program. During the project, there was a
sharing of experience on the given subject matter with colleagues from
Croatia. Partner organizations from the region participating in the
initiative are: NGO Brave Phone from Croatia, SOS Line for Children from
Serbia, Hi Neighbour from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Children's Embassy from
Macedonia. Amount allocated: EUR 10,960.
4. Sustainable Rural Development Policies: Mechanisms
for Countering the Impact of the Global Crisis (Applicant: NGO Green
Home, Podgorica). Green Home is a partner in the regional project; their
specific task is organization of a round table in Podgorica on the given
topic, intended for students of sciences, represenatatives of relevant
ministries and NGOs concerned with rural development. Amount allocated:
EUR 425.70.

5. Introduction of Consumer Protection in Elementary and
Secondary Education - Survey and Recommendations. Applicant: NGO Center
for Consumer Protection CEZAP, Podgorica. Initiated by CEZAP and the
Consumer Organization of Macedonia, the project aims to inform relevant
target groups (elementary school teachers, education specialists, parents,
students etc.) about consumer rights within the regular curricula. The
project envisages survey of the target group’s existing knowledge and
understanding of consumer rights and a series of round tables involving
experts from Montenegro and Macedonia, whose experience can provide guidance
towards revision of existing curricula in Montenegro so that they include
issues related to consumer protection rights. Budget: EUR 9,990.
6. Culture Lobby. Applicant: NGO ProStory,
Podgorica. The project aims to communicate the attitudes of citizens of the
Western Balkans on the course of transition and accession to the EU, using
audio and/or visual formats (book of photographs, website and GSM map), in
partnership with organizations from the region that bring together artists
of diverse background. The project gives visibility to the attitudes, ideas
and aspirations of citizens who are directly affected by the transition; the
publication will serve as an expression of creativity of artists from the
region and an alternative resource on the culture of this part of Europe.
Budget: EUR 3,805.
7. Corporate social responsibility in Montenegro and
region - examples of good practice (Center for development of NGOs,
Podgorica). The project aimed at promotion of corporate social
responsibility on a regional level, by means of organizing a regional
conference and testing of the initiative for establishment of a regional
network of organizations that would deal with promotion of corporate social
responsibility. Project also assumed preparation, printing and distribution
of a publication "Development of corporate social responsibility in
montenegro and region - examples of good practice". Budget: EUR 10.035,00.
8. Efficient creation and participative management of
sustainable youth centers in multicultural communities (Forum MNE) The
project assumes organization of the preparatory meeting, seminar and follow
up conference among project partners (from Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia
and Herzegovina and Macedonia), all with the aim to connect youth NGOs
working in multicultural communities and help them exchange their
experiences/best practices in managing youth clubs/centers, with emphases on
promotion of volunteerism and investigating ways of animating and organizing
youth and providing sustainability of the youth clubs/centers.
