1. National conference "Decade of Roma Inclusion in Montenegro - A Look Ahead"
The conference entitled "A Decade of Roma Inclusion in Montenegro - A Look Ahead" is aimed to assess the results of the first year of the implementation of the Decade, as an international initiative which contributes to improvement of general condition of the Roma regarding four priority fields – education, housing, health care and employment. It is expected that this one-day conference, organized by the RSF, and supported by the FOSI- ROM and UNICEF, will consider the activities undertaken so far within the implementation of the Action Plan for the Decade of Roma Inclusion. The conference is also expected to indicate the possible ways for further action in the field. The conference will be attended by the representatives of Roma and other non-governmental organizations dealing with this issue, the representatives of international organizations and of state bodies.
1. Providing legal assistance to Roma in Podgorica and Niksic
The project provides for free legal aid to Roma in Podgorica and Niksic, the two municipalities where they are the most numerous, in the field of labour and family law, right to property, right to education, issues related to citizenship etc. The centre for legal aid, in cooperation with the Red Cross of Podgrica and the non-governmental organisation SOS line Nksic, will provide free legal advice for Roma, and write for them applications, letters, complaints, appeals etc. The Centre will also process the data on the kind of legal assistance needed by Roma and communicate that to public authorities.
